MikroTik MTCSWE - Certified Switching Engineer Training Course

The MTC SWE (MikroTik Certified Switching Engineer) Level 2 training is intended for network and system engineers administering medium and large networks, as well as for all IT professionals who want to improve their knowledge in the field of L2 switching.

During the training, the theory of L2 is analyzed – the principles of frame switching, types of L2 communication – unicast, broadcast, multicast. You will get acquainted with MikroTik equipment, in which there are basic switch chips, as well as switch chips with advanced capabilities (CRS3xx), you will get acquainted with the second MikroTik operating system – SwOS and its capabilities.

The course discusses in detail the aspects of configuring VLAN in various ways and on different equipment – the software method and through the switch chip. The options will be port based vlan, protocol-based vlan, mac-based vlan, as well as routing between VLANs – the so-called “router on a stick” (router-on-the-stick). Also, the course understands QinQ (vlan in vlan), configured in a software way and in a hardware way.

Much attention in the course will be paid to the formation of loops in the network on L2 equipment and the fight against them – using the STP, RSTP, MSTP protocols, as well as using the bridge horizon.

The most interesting and useful opportunities open up when using bonding , we will consider its creation in a software and hardware way, as well as deal with the possibilities of powering equipment via Ethernet – PoE: types, priorities and monitoring.

The course also covers the topics of security and monitoring – finding network problems and solving them using built-in tools.

The course also ends with a certification exam, after successfully passing which you will receive an international MTCSWE certificate .

Topics that will be included in this course are:
-MTU
-VLAN
